Dance hall days (videos)
Dancing is not really my cup of tea. I’m a horrible dancer and I really look ridiculous when I try. That is not really a problem because I don’t want to dance anyway. People who actually can dance really look cool doing it. Some people have such control over their body that moving to the music actually looks graceful. No matter how graceful a person looks dancing, the first move always looks ridiculous. It is really fun to go downtown to some dance hall joint and watch people join the dancefloor and actually strike the first move. I’ve spilled many drinks from laughing at people who are about to start dancing.
On youtube I found some popular dance video’s. The first is Judson Laipply who has an act entitled “The evolution of dance”. This guy is not so much a smooth dancer but his act is really funny. Lot’s of well known dance moves are featured in his act.
Followed by a short video entitled “The evolution of dance for the rest of us” and gives a pretty good impression of how I look in a dance hall.
Next in line is a dancing contest. The contestants must dance like a robot. The best guy wins. The video starts with some cool guys dancing like a robot and teasing each other. The last contestant (the guy in the red shirt) looks a bit goofy. Kind of like Mr. Bean albeit a lot younger. When he starts it doesn’t look like a robot at all. The crowd laughs at him and make fun of him. Than watch him magically transform into a robot. The laughing turns into cheering. This guy is elastic and shows the crowd who’s boss.
And I believe this to be the same guy (not 100% sure) three years later. He even managed to improve. How’s that?
