Now we’ve asked for it: Pat Condell talks about the reactions and aftermath of Fitna. He is interested in how many people are condemning the movie and how few people are condemning the intimidation from parts of the muslim world. Most criticism on Fitna is its association of violence to Islam. Pat Condell reacts on that as well. I like the part where Pat hopes the Hindus are right about reincarnation and wants some people to reincarnate as female jewish lesbians.
By the way: Fitna is back on liveleak with an explanation and apology for removing it in the first place. They increased the security measures before putting Fitna back online.
Eindelijk is er een site waar je digitaal je excuses kunt aanbieden voor de film Fitna van Geert Wilders. Je kunt ’sorry zeggen’ door je foto te uploaden. Deze is voor de hele wereld zichtbaar en daarmee ziet de wereld dat jij zo slecht nog niet bent. Op nu.nl staat een artikel over de site www.sorryforthefilm.com. De Nederlandse makers zeggen in te spelen “op de behoefte van Nederlanders om de mening over ons land in de rest van de wereld te nuanceren”.
Onder dat motto kunnen we wel bezig blijven. We kunnen onze excuses aanbieden voor het slechte spel van het Nederlands elftal. De inzending naar het Eurovisie songfestival en ga zo maar door… Maar hoe zinnig is het om je excuses aan te bieden voor iets dan een ander gemaakt heeft? Is het een krampachtige poging om roomser dan de paus te zijn? Lekker boeiend allemaal: u kunt foto’s bekijken van mensen die hun excuses aanbieden voor de film van Wilders. Een aantal opmerkelijke inzendingen:
Ik heb ze altijd gemogen die gasten van de Chaos Computer Club. De roemruchte groep hackers hebben al vaak de wereld wakker geschud met sterke stunts. Wat ze nu weer geflikt hebben slaat alles. In Duitsland -net als in Nederland- is de overheid druk bezig om biometrische data te verzamelen en vast te leggen. De Chaos Computer Club is hierop tegen maar vindt geen tot weinig gehoor. Dus hebben ze de vingerafdruk van minister Wolfgang Schäuble (binnenlandse zaken) gepubliceerd. Niet alleen op papier maar ook met behulp van lijm op een stukje elastisch rubber dat je bij hun tijdschrift krijgt. Een hacker heeft al 20 verschillende scanners gefopt met deze afdruk. De vingerafdruk is verkregen door een glas waaruit de minister gedronken heeft op een conferentie mee te nemen. Nu heeft u naast de tè hoge prijzen nòg een reden om de horeca te mijden.
Tweakers.net heeft een artikel hierover net als de CCC zelf. Conclusie: vingerafdruk biometrie is onveilig. Nu alleen nog doordringen tot de onwetende en eigenwijze hoofden van politici. De ervaringen in Nederland hebben geleerd dat men nogal hardleers is. Tineke Huizinga gaat gewoon door met het invoeren van de OV chipkaart.
Het is weer zo ver hoor: zomertijd. ‘S avonds wakker in bed liggen vanwege het daglicht en de verzengende hitte. Veel plezier ermee, 26 oktober gaan we weer naar de normale tijd. Ik zeg afschaffen die zomertijd. Update: het nut van zomertijd is nooit bewezen.
Nederige excuses aan Minister President J.P. Balkenende. Zijn waarschuwingen voorafgaand aan het openbaren van de film van Geert Wilders zijn terecht gebleken. Ik zal eerlijk toegeven dat ik destijds alle ophef beschimpt heb maar inmiddels is Nederland ten onder aan het gaan in een maalstroom aan rampen die over ons is uitgestort:
De E.U. wijst Fitna scherp af. Slovenen spreken over “haat zaaien”. Overigens durft de E.U. zich niet uit te spreken tegen China over de situatie in Tibet, slapjanussen.
Het Nederlands consulaat in Pakistan is extra beveiligd, mede dankzij bedreiging van ene Garret Weldon.
In Utrecht breken rellen uit waarbij auto’s in de brand worden gestoken.

Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture.
We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.

The AEL (Arab European League) released a movie to counter Fitna called “Almouftinoun” (I could not find a translation). In this movie Wilders is exposed as a racist and zionist. We see images of crimes against moslims and citations from the Talmud.

Geenstijl.nl is down. De server of loadbalancer verbreekt de verbinding. Zou Fitna dan toch een grotere impact gehad hebben dan ik verwacht had? Zijn cyber-terroristen aanslagen aan het plegen? Ik ga snel naar mijn server om de netwerkkabel in aluminiumfolie te wikkelen teneinde de kabel te shielden tegen aanvallen…

Fitna the movie is finally released through liveleak (dutch version here). It basically shows some suar (dutch) from the Quran intermixed with footage of terrorism. To tell you the truth I’ve seen nothing that I haven’t seen before. You will see some shocking quotes from the Quran followed by shocking footage of terrorist acts and holy leaders promoting the holy war. I really don’t understand why it took Geert so long to create this movie. Maybe he needed to contact the creators of the footage to ask for permission to reuse the clips.
Can you believe that organisations in the Netherlands are trying to prevent the release of this movie? It’s just a compilation of footage and information that is already out there. Hopefully things turn to normal again tomorrow and we can concentrate on keeping the peace and freedom.

Fans zouden hem dat nog steeds kwalijk nemen en weigeren zijn solo-platen te kopen. De solo-plaat van oud-BZN’er Jan Keizer is geflopt. De altijd vrolijke zanger kijkt een stuk minder vrolijk. Je kunt erop wachten dat zijn platenmaatschappij, die traditioneel de waarheid aan haar zijde heeft, dit gevalletje van tegenvallende verkopen gaat toeschrijven aan downloaders. U heeft Jan Keizer kapot gemaakt, dan weet u dat vast.

Now Cybernet introduces a retro Commodore 64 look-a-like. An “all inside the keyboard” computer that holds everything except a display. From the side the computer really looks like an old clunky home computer case.
Although I really love the old days of home computing I can’t help to think that we really don’t need this. I will definitely not buy one of those. A laptop will be a way better alternative that also has everything on-board including a display. I’m very curious if anyone thinks this is actually cool?
