Days and sounds of Pi
Saturday, March 15th, 2008The official π-day (Pi-day) was yesterday (14th of march), 3.14 get it?. However I think we should make that two days of π since the next two digits are 15. So 14th and 15th of march makes 3.1415. There is an official website for π-day.
Throughout the ages people are fascinated with the number π. We know exactly what π is (the circumfence of a circle with diameter 1). Yet we will never know the real value of π since it is a transcendental number. There will be always one more digit to add to π and when someone has done that than there is still one more digit to add… ad infinitum. I salute you, π, for making the world go round.
