Oh, okay, the subject was just to get you reading but still this story will hold up to the title. On the website perl.com they use an advertiser that requires the perl.com website to load some Javascript from their website. Long story short: the advertiser let the domain expire and it was bought by some online porn king. They replaced the Javascript to serve ads with a redirection. So from that moment on when you browse to www.perl.com you got redirected to a porn site. Read the explanation from O’Reilly.
