Heb jij ook dat achterdochtige gevoel dat je een uurtje minder geslapen hebt? Ik vind mezelf –een beetje futloos onderuitgezakt– terug in een poging met een bejaard penseel een oud schilderijtje naar de vergetelheid te kwasten met drie lagen gesso. De derde laag zit erop maar de energie is er wel uit. Een beetje power & adrenaline kan geen kwaad op deze ochtend… en wie hebben we daarvoor?

Hi Chow thanks for your reaction. Well I like Frank Black myself (and The Pixies) but if you are referring to this:
I’m sorry my friend but this lacks everything that makes the original so great… well in my opinion that is. I mean: Herman’s version gives me power and when it’s over I think “Ahh.. over already?”. When Frank is finally done I’m like “yes finally… peace & quiet is what I need”.
However. Frank got my eternal respect by bringing a tribute to Herman at the cemetry (zorgvliet, Amsterdam). Fortunately someone actually caught it on video. At the start he says “Mach iek Engwels spreghen.” Nice accent dutch for “Can I speak Enlish?”. Enjoy:

Yep.. u are referring to the version I was talkin abt..
ha ha well the choice is more in the genre of music that appeals to us I guess.. i like the punked up loook n feel of the BF version wid the stronger guitar riffs and slightly *I’m so sloshed i dnt give a damn* vocals in that version
Of course the tribute is a classic.. goes widout saying..love his acoustic sound.. must’ve given goosebumps to the guys who’d come down to pay their last respects to HB.
