Fall into a blackhole
Oh this is nice. A small video of a simulation what you would see if you were falling into a blackhole… well until you hit the singularity itself.. that is still a mystery. But if you happen to fall into a blackhole please drop a line and tell me what happens next…

I know.
You die.

And what you see then, well lets just say the jury is still out on that one….

What really cooks my cookie is that if you fall in, you probably don’t die, ever. As the strength of the gravitational field increases, your time is stretched asymptotically ’till infinity. So the falling person doesn’t actually “hit” the singularity, ever.

Oh that is a so mind-boggling beautiful thought… I like it. Stretching time until infinity… a moment that never passes but stretches out for ever and ever… Caught in a moment… forever… Let’s hope it was a happy moment.
Makes me think of the song “Time” by David Bowie

@Sander: lol
@Karel: in such a case do u still continue to grow old or get stuck in a time warp of youth and adrenaline excess like what’s happened to Clint Eastwood [See Gran Torino if u dnt believe me]

well, if time is infinitely slow, so would our perception of it be. So our bodies might not actually hit the singularity, but we would be in a comatozed state, unable to enjoy your endless life.
Hmmmm nice. Something to look forward to.

In fact, this makes me think of a song:
Loser by Beck
Dit vind ik het allermooiste fragment uit het hele nummer:
“I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you kill me”
